Titans and jets score11/27/2023 ![]() ![]() He's not the Chris Johnson we saw post 2,000 yards a few years back, but he's also certainly not the shell of a rusher we saw last season. Whether or not the ball actually gets to him is another question entirely. Kerley should have no problem getting open on Monday night. His production has tailed off considerably as of late, but his early season success was a testament to his potential.Īs the Jets' de facto top receiver, he could be in store for a good day against the Titans: According to Football Outsiders, Tennessee's defense ranks 30th against opposing No. Kerley has been the closest thing that the Jets have had to an offensive weapon this season. Nope, I can't believe I'm recommending a member of New York's passing game either. In fact, if you add up the total from New York's past two contests, it comes out to 40-a point less than the total for this one game. The only over/under line they've had over 40 since Week 7 was against New England. The only teams who rank lower are Jacksonville, Kansas City and Arizona.Īnd yet, this total ended up surprisingly high for a Jets game. The Titans and Jets rank 28th and 29th, respectively, in Football Outsiders' offensive efficiency rankings. This won't be an upset-again, the Titans are technically favored-but it should be more of the same. Tennessee pulled an upset over Pittsburgh the last time they played a home game in primetime. Not that the Titans do, either, but still. Still, they just don't pass the eye test. Things have been anything but smooth in New York this year, but the numbers still suggest that they should win this game: Football Outsiders ranks them 16.3 DVOA points higher than the Titans in overall team efficiency. ![]() That fact that Tennessee-losers of five of their last six games-is favored against the Jets says all you need to know about Gang Green's preposterous playoff hopes. ![]() Let's take a closer look and see if they have what it takes: Jets: Travel to London to take on the “home” Atlanta Falcons at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next Sunday morning. The Titans are trying to do the nation a favor by eliminating the Jets from playoff contention-and, ostensibly, from our morning dose of SportsCenter. Titans: Head to Jacksonville to face Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars. Jets: CB Brandin Echols left in the first quarter with a concussion and didn’t return. Titans: LG Rodger Saffold suffered a concussion and didn’t return. Townsend’s second punt traveled much farther, going 63 yards. New York got the ball at Tennessee’s 48, but went three-and-out. Tennessee’s Tommy Townsend, in for the injured Brett Kern, had a 12-yard punt sail out of bounds late in the first half on his first kick with the Titans. BREAKING THROUGHĪfter three field goals by Bullock gave Tennessee a 9-0 lead, New York’s offense finally showed signs of life.Īfter a 6-yard run by Michael Carter got the ball to the 2, the rookie running back bulldozed his way up the middle - with a nice push from his O-linemen - to get into the end zone for his first NFL touchdown to cut the Jets’ deficit to 9-7 late in the second quarter. ![]() Quinnen and Quincy Williams became the first brothers to get sacks in the same game as teammates since sacks became an official stat in 1982, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. The Jets had seven sacks, including two by Quinnen Williams, 1 1/2 by Bryce Huff and one each by Quincy Williams, C.J. ![]()
